MMHMedication in Mental Health
09h30 – 16h30 on 24th & 25th November 2021
“ . ” - with UK’s experts to discuss how medication is used
What Is
Medications that are used to treat mental illness are called psychotropics. These are drugs that act on the brain and nervous system and can play a role in treating several mental disorders and conditions. Medications work by rebalancing the chemicals in the brain. Different types of medication act on different chemical pathways.
Medication is only one part of treatment for mental illness. It is usually offered together with psychological treatment (talking therapy), education and lifestyle advice.
For some people, drugs are a short-term solution used to get them over an immediate crisis. For other people, drugs are an on-going, long-term treatment that enables them to live with severe and enduring mental health problems.
Medication in Mental Health (MMH)
will bring together the UK’s leading experts to discuss how medication is used; from diagnosis, to GP involvement to treatment and medication. MMH will discuss the effects of treatment, what holistic options and methods are there and how do they work, what does the Private Healthcare have to offer and how effective is it. MMH will also take a look at the effects and liabilities of using medication through an open discussion.
MMH will host a two-day interactive webinar, creating a platform for discussion to take place and allow those who are suffering with their mental health to be better informed, to give them a voice and be heard by those who are there to help them. It will give the providers of medications, services and therapies an opportunity to explain what benefits they offer, how they work and why. With so many more needing support with their mental health, now more than ever, we feel the time is right to create this platform and share knowledge. Only by being better informed and sharing best practise, can we start to make better choices for our mental health.
We look forward to welcoming you to our live interactive networking event presenting a unique opportunity to learn from each other and meet with experts from throughout the UK.
